These are a few of my favorite things!

I love...

Quelques Jours

Over the last few days I've been quite busy.  My family went to Oklahoma for a family reunion for a while. It was pretty fun but the majority of the time I read Brisingr.

On our way out we stopped by the Oklahoma bombing site. It was really sad and moving. As much as society progresses; we've never progressed enough.

A Single Wave

I made this ring earlier today! It looks nice I think. I was trying to make a heart and failed miserably because all I had were pliers.

DIY: organizing embroidery string

I saw this picture on Pinterest of an easy way to organize embroidery string. I have masses and masses of embroidery string so I decided to give this a try! It really worked out.

Arcade Fire

I love this song!

Treasures

A few years ago when I went to my local library I found these old National Geographic magazines. The library was giving them away, I don't know why but I seized the chance to get my piece of history. I really enjoy looking through these, the adds are amazing and hilarious now just because of how far we've advanced in the last 40 years.

FAT books

My goal for this summer is to conquer Inheritance by Christopher Poalini. I started this series a while back and finished the first three books but now I'm having difficulty starting the fourth book.  I don't have reading phobias like most people:
1. I am not afraid of a big
2. I love reading
I'm really looking forward to reading it, but somehow I can't bring myself to. Maybe because there's been so much time in between Brisingr and the newly released Inheritance.

YA Book Covers

I read a most interesting article a few days back on statics on young adult book covers. Here are a few of the charts:

Adventure Through Time

I used to love Time Warp Trio when I was little. It taught you a lot, it was funny and really entertaining. They're adventures took you everywhere allowing you to be exposed to different culters. It made learning fun and scary running away from the bad guys!
My favorite character was Sam.

Bags

I'm not one for purses, but there is something about leather small messenger purse/ bad slash thing that I love. I really want to try this DIY out. I can buy the bag at H&M. I'll go get it soon.

Sendak

R.I.P. Maurice Sendak, author and illustrator of Where the Wild Things Are, who died today at age 83.
Sendak on death: “I have nothing now but praise for my life. I’m not unhappy. I cry a lot because I miss people. They die and I can’t stop them. They leave me and I love them more. … What I dread is the isolation. … There are so many beautiful things in the world which I will have to leave when I die, but I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready.”
“The whole promise is to do the work.”

Roll Like a Buffalo

The picture speaks for itself

5 Places

There have been some places that I've always wanted to go. When I was little I always wanted to go to Papua New Guinea, Paris and England. But now I have a new list and this is it!

1. London, England
Even though I have been there once, i still long to go. I feel really nostalgic when I think of it now. I love the architecture, accents, the British culture, the cities, the country, the humor. I think I love everything about it.

 2. Amsterdam, Netherlands
I have always been fascinated with the small roads, the canals, the small houses squished together and the orange colors. I became especially fascinated with Amsterdam after reading the Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

3. Istanbul, Turkey
The city is beautiful. I used to have nerd moments and I would go research the Ottoman Empire, so that's probably why I began to like the city. I also fell in love with the city after reading Leviathan by Scott Westerfield. I also heard a wonderful report about the city on NPR. Also I heard that cats roam around there. It seems really whimsical.

4. Chile
I've always wanted to go to Chile! It's a beautiful city mixed with jungle. The landscape varies according to where you are. It's close to the equator in some parts and really close to Antarctica in the southern tip.

5. Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos Islands have always been appealing. It's beautiful landscape, its diverse animal population and the lack of human civilization. It's also an adventure just to get there. Home --> Equador ->boat-> Galapagos
